Stopping at the top of Sir Lowry’s Pass to start this trip was fantastic. A short drive later and we were in the town of Grabouw. Visiting this area which is well known in South Africa as being apple country was a good decision. We drove through the town looking for interesting places. The old Jailhouse and the Harris Bros building dating back to 1906 were awesome.

Although Grabouw in the Elgin Valley is most famous for its apple and pear orchards, in recent years the area has also become a well-respected wine-growing region.
